Ministries

You can best understand the nature of our congregation through our Vision Statement: "Bridging the Gap Between Community and Christ."  As we have served and worked throughout the Raytown/South KC area, we have come to understand that the "Gap" can be many things to many people. It is our hope that we might stand in that gap and find ways to embrace the wonderful families of our community by walking along side them in their daily struggles and concerns.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

The dynamic Children's ministry at One Spirit is for children ages 3-10 (pre-school through 5th grade.) Our kids have a great time learning about Jesus and His love!  They learn Bible lessons, sing songs, and participate in mission activities. Recently they collected spare change to send a flock of chicks to under-privileged people through the Heifer International organization.  Nursery care is provided for children 3 and under.

Adult Spiritual Formation
Sunday School is for Everyone and meets from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.  There are four Adult classes that offer a variety of learning experiences. Year-round study opportunities are available for adults to strengthen their faith through learning.

Mid-High and Senior-High youth have relevant Bible lessons during Sunday School and also meet for Youth Group. They discuss faith and life lessons along with participating in fun activities and service to others. Youth Group meets on Sunday's at 5:00 pm in the Youth Room.

GROUPS AND ACTIVITIES:

One Spirit stays connected to those who are unable to attend church on a regular basis. Contact Jerry Cochran or Pastor Margaret to help this vital ministry stay in touch with those at home, in care facilities, or experiencing short hospital stays.

Small Groups are a great way to get involved in the church but on a smaller level.  Groups of 6-8 people get together for fellowship which sometimes includes bible or book study, games, or just food, fun and games.

Outreach and Missions
Outreach events and projects are planned throughout the year to serve our community and our neighborhood. We serve at REAP (Raytown Emergency Assistance Program), Della Lamb, Spofford Home, and more. One Spirit participates in the Caring for Kids partnership with Westridge Elementary School to help support the students, parents, teachers and staff of the school.

Boy Scouts TROOP 550 & Cub Scouts PACK 550
One Spirit is pleased to charter Troop & Pack 550 of Raytown, MO. They are a very active Scout group that meets at the church weekly.
